Midwest United Korean American Association Next Generation Workshop

The **Leadership Workshop & Conversation**, organized by the **Federation of Midwest Korean Associations USA (FOMKAA USA)** and the **Korean-American Society of Kansas City**, is a networking and leadership workshop designed to help the next generation of Korean Americans connect, rediscover their identity, and grow in leadership and purpose.

The workshop will take place on **Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM**. This program is initially focused on participants from **Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa**, with plans to expand participation across all **13 states in the Midwest region**.

The workshop welcomes Korean Americans ranging from their early 20s to mid-40s, bringing together individuals from diverse professional, cultural, and personal backgrounds to share experiences, ideas, and vision for the future.

The central theme of the workshop is:

**“Between Cultures, Beyond Limits: Navigating Identity, Leadership, and Success.”**

The goal of this workshop is to encourage Korean Americans living between two cultures to transform their identity into strength while exploring leadership, career growth, community impact, and long-term success.

We are honored to welcome **Patricia Lee** as our featured guest speaker. Patricia Lee made history as the **first Asian American and the first African American woman to serve on the Nevada Supreme Court**. Drawing from her groundbreaking legal career and leadership journey, she will share valuable insights on overcoming barriers, embracing identity, and leading with purpose. Her story offers a powerful example of resilience, excellence, and service, inspiring the next generation of Korean American leaders to pursue meaningful impact in their communities and professions.

Participants will have the opportunity not only to hear inspiring discussions and perspectives but also to build meaningful relationships with other next-generation Korean Americans from different states. Through networking and collaborative conversations, attendees will be encouraged to think about the future direction of Korean American leadership and community engagement.

This workshop is intended to serve as a starting point for connection, inspiration, and long-term collaboration among the next generation of Korean Americans.
