Send two teams to play a role as a member of the local Asian community
The Kansas City Korean American Society announced that they have sent two teams as representatives to the Kansas City Dragon Boat Festival (Kansas City Dragon Boat Festival), a local festival.
A demonstration team from the Master HC Kim World Class Taekwondo Center (Master HC Kim World Class Taekwondo Center) team led by Kim Hyun-chul, and the KTRLD CHAOS team from KC Kpop Community (KC Kpop Community) participated in this festival.
The Dragon Boat Festival is an annual event held in the Brush Creek (Brush Creek) area of Country Club Plaza (Country Club Plaza). Boat practice begins at 8 a.m., and a full-scale festival begins at 9:45 a.m. Dragons parade along the banks of Brush Creek with the sound of drums, marking the end of a day-long race.
This is a multicultural festival hosted by the Kansas City Department of Parks and Recreation in collaboration with the local Asian community.
An official from the Korean American Society said, “Although it was a local festival, it was a great opportunity to promote Korean culture and promote our existence as a part of the Kansas City Asian community.”
Despite the hot weather on the day, the Taekwondo Demonstration Group presented a demonstration showing the excellence of traditional Korean martial arts, and the K-pop dance team conveyed the vitality of modern Korean culture to the festival participants. Both teams did their best to perform even in the hot weather.
The Korean Society said, “Despite the hot weather, all participants worked hard to promote Korean culture,” and “through this participation, we promoted exchanges with various Asian communities in Kansas City and achieved results in promoting the diversity of Korean culture to the local community.”
